Real-Time pH and EC Monitoring System Installation

Project Overview

Oserian Development Company operates high-value greenhouse flower production in Naivasha, Kenya. Precision nutrient management is critical in cut-flower cultivation, where even slight imbalances in pH and Electrical Conductivity (EC) can affect stem length, bloom quality, and export standards.

In 2023, Agrifity implemented a Real-Time pH and EC Monitoring System to improve fertigation accuracy, reduce nutrient wastage, and enhance overall greenhouse productivity.

Project Scope

The project involved the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of:

• Inline industrial-grade pH sensors
• Inline EC monitoring probes
• Automated nutrient dosing control system
• Cloud-based IoT monitoring dashboard
• Mobile access for agronomists and greenhouse managers
• Alarm and alert system for parameter deviations
• Integration with existing fertigation infrastructure

The system was configured to monitor nutrient solution parameters in real time across multiple greenhouse irrigation zones.

Results & Impact

✔ 28% reduction in nutrient wastage
✔ Improved bloom uniformity
✔ Reduced manual testing labor by 40%
✔ Faster corrective response to nutrient imbalances
✔ Enhanced export-grade flower quality

The system enabled precision fertigation management aligned with international horticultural standards.
